What Is Plasma Pen Treatment ?

What Is Plasma Pen Removal?

At Skin Tag Clinic, we use advanced plasma technology to safely and effectively remove a wide range of benign skin lesions including skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses, milia, cherry angiomas, sun spots, benign moles and xanthelasma.

Plasma pen removal is a non-surgical treatment that works by creating a tiny electrical arc just above the skin’s surface. This plasma energy precisely targets the unwanted tissue without the need for scalpels, stitches or deep cutting into the skin.

The treatment causes the lesion to naturally dry, shrink and detach during the healing process while minimising trauma to the surrounding skin.

Why Plasma Technology?

Plasma removal has become increasingly popular because it offers several advantages over more traditional methods such as excision, freezing or cautery.

Precision

The plasma arc allows extremely targeted treatment, making it ideal for delicate areas including around the eyes and face.

Minimal Scarring

Because the skin is not cut open in the traditional sense, there is often less tissue trauma and a reduced risk of noticeable scarring when aftercare is followed correctly.

Non-Surgical

No stitches or invasive surgery are required, making the treatment much less intimidating for many clients.

Fast Recovery

Most lesions form a small crust and heal naturally over 5–14 days depending on the area treated and the lesion type.

Versatile

Plasma technology can treat many different benign skin lesions in a single appointment.

Reduced Bleeding

The plasma energy cauterises as it works, meaning there is usually minimal bleeding during treatment.

Excellent Cosmetic Results

Many clients choose plasma removal because of the cosmetic finish it can achieve, particularly on visible areas such as the face, neck and eyelids.

I was contacted by Kathy Hugill, who is based in Plymouth but also operating in Cardiff once a month. She talked me through the process and cost of removing seborrheic keratoses (SK) from my back which I have had for years. I was self conscious of them and wanted them gone. I had an initial consultation with her and Amy whereupon she took 20+ derma scope images for me to refer to my GP's. After seeing my GP, I was given the all clear to have them removed. A few weeks later I had them removed 30+ in total. The process involved applying an anaesthetic cream to numb the skin and then the SKs were burnt off using a plasma pen. It's not totally painless but perfectly tolerable (like pin picks). After care involved keeping the small wounds clean and dry for a week and after that I was able to fully shower. After two weeks the wounds were dry and healing nicely. After four weeks my back is smooth and the scarring is beginning to fade.

I am so pleased and happy to have them removed. Kathy and Amy were professional and easy to deal with. The cost is so affordable in comparison with a dermatologist removing them. I just wish I'd found Kathy years ago.

Many thanks Kathy and Amy.
